My opinion was my own and should not be taken as a literal statement of truth. My objection to the pricing is that I will not be getting the content for the same price as you guys in the States. Coupled with the fact that the main game has been lowered in price now for months this does not speak gaming value to me.
For myself and many others games today are woefully short. Ten hours game play to me is really no time at all and considering how 'ten hour's' is such an arbitrary figure in the first place I fail to see how this can offer value to myself.
Take for example the latest Fallout content. It was stated that the content offered up between 3-5 hours depending on play type. You tell me what play type can extend that to five hours, because I was done in no more than two hours.
As I said this is my personal opinion if you happen to like GTA IV and you want to play the content when it lands then fine, go do so but for the likes of myself I won't be paying for it when it will no doubt be dropped in price at some point when Microsoft milks the cash cow further.

I spent waaaaay more than five hours playing Katamari Damacy. Regardless, that's an entire game for $20. You don't need to pay an additional $40-60 to have an original game to be able to play Katamari. This is paying for GTA4, and then having to pay another $20 (the price of some full games) for a number of hours of gameplay that show they could have been included in the original game.
And this was more about the fact that this was setting precedent for other games to add on a few game hours here and there for the price of a full game like Katamari.

Looking at gameplay length misses the point. GTA IV was, I think, the most expensive game to make ever. Adding a whole new chapter is still going to cost a butt load of money compared to making a game like Katamari, which was probably made cheaper. They gotta recoup the price somehow.
With that said, Valve talked about how much money they made when they dropped the price of L4D by half, and how they made way more money by offering it cheaper. If 100 times as many people buy it, and it's half the price, you're doing very well.

It depends on what kind of game it is... If go and buy a FPS for 60 and its 10 hours long then im happy as long as i also enjoy the multiplayer but if it was a RPG that i bought id be extremely disappointed. I would expect that it should be more of a 30 or more hour game and hey if go and buy say oblivion or persona and get over 100 hours in the main story alone then thats great

For completionists...
I can speak for GTA4:TLAD, but you can complete the story missions at like 60%. In other words, there are other things to do in Liberty City that go above and beyond the 10 hour story mode.
I think all the achievements are tied to the story mode (minus the 69 bikers knocked off in races...) if that says anything.
My time in TLAD is over 6 hours and I am only at like 23%, and I freaking love it. $20 was a bargain.
My opinions only, but, hey if it sounds like too much to some, maybe it is... but I have always been a big GTA guy... I actually finished GTA on the PS1 way back when, bought the London Add-on and beat that and didn't pick up a PS2 until GTA3 came out. So, I am a huge fan of the genre. Heck, I didn't pick up a 360 until Saints Row came out... which is still a fun game today.
