as expected, i am loving the shit out of this game. i had played through the prologue before but that was it.
this game's atmosphere is incredible, from the music to the patented kojima fourth wall breaking shenanigans.
if you haven't started playing it already, i recommend you do so asap. i'm actually thinking about writing a review (!) for this game as soon as i'm done, but i'm literally the laziest person on earth so don't hold me to it.

I'm really loving it so far. I'm taking it a slow pace and only playing when I have time to give it my full attention (which is how I always approach games I really like), so I'm only just now talking to the desk clerk in the Beyond Police office.
What's the best Sega CD emu for Snatcher?

that would be gens. kega has some known compatibility issues with certain rips of snatcher (and from what i've heard even legit copies run into some issues).
i just beat policenauts. this game didn't disappoint; and while perhaps the ending wasn't quite as climactic as snatchers, the characters were very well fleshed out and the atmosphere is one of the best i've seen in a game.
and i fucking LOVE the music in this game holy shit

How about the funky bassline in the intro? The synth voice "do. do. do. do do do." and synth bass "bum ba dum bum bumm." It sounds really cheesy, but from a musical standpoint it's fucking amazing. TAPPY is awesome, I'm sad they dropped him after MGS1.

Just let me make sure I'm correct..This is just a text translation right? Not a full localization, speech and all? Either way I will be getting it.
Oh and Violence...If you haven't played Snatcher, I highly recommend it. Great game, even with the cheesy shootouts with the light gun(those sections don't require a light gun though).

that one's called end of the dark, and yes, it's incredible. it says here on the ost that it's done by the entire kukeiha club (which i also wish they kept post mgs1).

yep, all text. this is a game i actually wouldn't like to see get an english dub, since i feel our pick of the litter vo's wouldn't capture most of the characters correctly.
on a different note, the psx version gives you two options for controls; you can either use a standard controller or a mouse. i highly reccomend you use the mouse (epsxe supports mouse emulation) because it makes the game much more intuitive (and the combat sequences a hell of a lot better).
the saturn version actually let you use a lightgun for the combat sequences, so i'm eagerly awaiting the translation of that version.

so has anyone else beat it yet?
i personally loved the shit out of it and it's easily my favorite kojima game.
but it seems there's a good number of people who were disappointed. naturally, when a game builds itself up for 15 years it's bound to disappoint a few, but it seems that at least a vocal minority was let down due to the predictability of a few central plot points.
granted, some of the primary plot points were predictable, but i think that there was still a good number of surprises. plus, this wasn't really meant to be like snatcher which kept you in the dark on exactly what it was you were fighting the whole time, rather to be a game that led you on and immersed you in it's atmosphere (something that snatcher, for all it's greatness, never did as well as policenauts). that and i feel the character development in policenauts far exceeded anything there was in snatcher.
