I'm seeing the same thing here, Regular seems to hold your hand a lot...I'd hat e to see what the easy setting does. In Regular I feel like even if I hold down the accelerator through the whole race it does almost all the braking.

Yeah apparently brake assist is something even "Regular" racers need.
Turned it off and now it's actually a game again.
