I'm about to get it for motherfucking $30, thanks to Eswat for bringing that to my attention. It pays to be a student sometimes.

I booted off the windows 7 disc, formatted my HDD from within the windows 7 setup, and then just installed Windows 7 as if it was a regular non-upgrade copy of Windows 7. Do NOT provide your key during the install and be sure to download all Windows updates before activating Windows 7. That's what I did.

Much much better. Don't waste your time on the 32 bit version.
And I believe there is a whole XP virtualization in the professional and above versions.

Windows 7 gets the same game performance as XP. Windows Vista comes in last each time. FUCK Vista.

Vista destroyed my old video card like a year ago... I still haven't got a new one.... and I havent used Vista since. It's garbage that should never been released.

Using an upgrade copy to do a full install has been possible from quite some time now. I think even in the days of 98 you could do that. MS doesn't care as long as you pay something for it.
