I can't believe what's happening in my city now. I'm so fucking ashamed. Seriously.

Yeah i don't feel bad about Boston winning after seeing Vancouver's spoiled attitude about losing. Sad to see such a beautiful city trashed.

Happy for Thomas at least. Good friend of our Marty St.Louis.

Nothing says die hard home team fan like destroying your own city after you lose. It's a damn shame.

The police chief has a good point about what happened. It was planned. There were people there specifically to fuck shit up, considering they had masks, goggles, and gasoline ready. Just a bunch of anarchist assholes like you get at G8/G20 summits.

The biggest point to take home here is that they were not from Vancouver. It's a group of anarchists from the suburbs that keep stirring up shit like this. In fact, the stuff you won't see on the news is how a huge group of citizens rose up to clean the mess the morning after. http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=219286898091948

Don't paint all of Vancouver with the same brush. The violent asshats do not represent us.

(EDIT) In all the madness, this image will likely be one people remember: http://www.esquire.com/blogs/politic...-photo-5929916

A lot of those asshats have been named, shamed, and arrested thanks to Facebook. A lot have lost their jobs and even some lost scholarships for their participation.

During the riot, events were already being planned for the clean up, and the next morning, bright and early, Vancouver showed it's REAL face:

Every single piece of plywood that went up to cover a window looks like this now. Hundreds of thousands of positive notes.

I love my city, and I don't the word "love" lightly. It shames me what happened Wednesday night, but Thursday morning reinforced why I hope I never have to move.
